The Open Door Food Pantry

Strives to alleviate hunger in the communities of Cape Ann, serving Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, Manchester, and Ipswich. They provide free meals and food in a hospitable environment, advocacy on behalf of the disadvantaged, job-skills training, and job placement programs. The church serves as a collection location for the Pantry. You can donate non-perishable food items in the basket under the information table in Fellowship Hall.

Haiti Mission

The church is happy to support the work of Nouvelle Touraine Haiti (NTH) in cooperation with Dr. Amy St. Denis, a Rockport native who teaches Haitians about proper animal healthcare techniques while sharing the love of Christ and Rosias Rex Royal a Haitian who coordinates projects for NTH.  NTH sponsors a village school in Sonice as well as currently building a dormitory for teachers.   All work and outreach is done in the framework of prayer and sharing Christ’s love.

Hope Ascending

The home base for Hope Ascending is here in Rockport.  Carl and Julie Oulton are the founders. Hope Ascending’s mission is to end injustice toward the poor while growing God’s Church on the front lines of urgent need in India and Nepal – starting with children. Hope Ascending works with pastors and teachers throughout India in order to transform whole people groups from disenfranchised Caste Identities to New Creations in Christ. Ryan & Erin Bennett

Ryan and Erin have served with World Team in France since 2013. Ryan currently serves as the Field Director for World Team France. They are church planters attempting to establish a new church in the southwestern area of Paris. Ryan and Erin try to serve their neighborhood through street cleaning, a homeless outreach, an English club, and a small community gardening project. The Bennetts initiate Bible studies, plan events and social outings to meet people and share the Gospel. They have two children, Elias and Charlotte.

Peter & Deborah Johnson

Peter and Deborah Johnson are called to minister in Toronto through Vision Ministries Canada to Nigerians who emigrated to Canada.  They currently meet in a church on Sunday afternoons along with streaming the service.  Weekly Bible study and prayer (online) focuses on questions and insights from the preached message. 

Peter meets with other pastors to build relationships and understand the community.  The hope and prayer is to grow a discipled church community, have in person Bible studies, and share the gospel with neighbors.  An ongoing prayer is for a youth ministry for immigrant teens.  Discipleship is at the heart of Peter and Deborah’s work. “You came here just for me,” someone remarked…spreading God’s Word and the love of Jesus one by one.
